Eloy Jimenez is finalizing a long-term contract with the White Sox, according to multiple reports.
ESPN’s Jeff Passan reports that the six-year deal is for $43 million, setting a record for players already in a major-league organization with no service time.
Passan also reports that Jimenez will start the season with the Sox, most likely as a regular corner outfielder.
Jimenez toyed with Triple-A pitching last season, batting .355 with 12 home runs and a .597 slugging percentage in 55 games.
