ANAHEIM, Calif. — The man trying hard to alter the course of Blackhawks history still cherishes the night he claimed some for himself.
"I think I set the Blackhawks record for shortest shift resulting in a goal — 12 seconds long, scoring on the only shift I had the whole game,'' Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau recalled Monday at the Honda Center, a day before Game 2 of the Western Conference finals.
Boudreau, 60, played briefly for the Hawks and coach Bob Pulford in the 1985-86 season, one of 17 sweaters he donned during a 20-year career spanning eight leagues.
