After rains washed out last night, the White Sox host Minny for a series-ending straight doubleheader on Wednesday.
Jake Eder, once the prize arm from Chicago’s second spurt of “rebuild” trades in 2023-24 but now falling behind Mason Adams, Jairo Iriarte, and Ky Bush at minimum, is the 27th player for the doubleheader. Given that the call-up does not count as an option/service time and Eder was already in Chicago/due to be in Chicago (Barons starters are getting tuneups at Sox Park all week anyway) this is a totally sensible call in spite of Eder’s season not being quite worthy of call-up.
