If you thought tonight’s game was the Texas Rangers’ “Dylan Covey” against one of the endless variations of the Chicago White Sox’s “Dylan Covey,” well you were maybe a little ... disappointed?
The Rangers’ Covey, Ariel Jurado, wore it for Texas, pitching an eight-inning complete game and giving up six earned runs and two homers in the process. Chicago’s Covey, Ross Detwiler, was magnificent: six innings (with probable room for a seventh), three hits, one earned, eight Ks and zero walks. (If not for Kelvin Herrera issuing a free pass in the ninth, White Sox pitching would have made it two straight games without a walk.
