Amid all the negative talk of catcher Welington Castillo and his impending 80-game suspension, the White Sox will announce something far more pleasant on Thursday: Danny Farquhar will throw out the first pitch before their June 1 game against the Brewers.
Farquhar has made a remarkable recovery since collapsing in the Sox dugout April 20 after suffering a brain hemorrhage caused by a ruptured aneurysm. The 31-year-old right-hander, who has twice visited his teammates at Guaranteed Rate Field, hopes to pitch again next season.
MLB.com first reported the news of the first pitch.
