Four games into the season, the White Sox starting staff was flying high. Only one pitcher had failed to record a quality start and that’s because Jose Quintana’s outing with just a little short.
And then John Danks took the mound for the home opener on Friday afternoon, as the White Sox fell to the Cleveland Indians, 7-1. Danks allowed five runs in the first two innings and seven total on the day (five earned) in five innings of work.
Following the loss, a subdued Danks was dealing with the reality of his start, which included an early booing by the cold, snowed-upon home fans.
