When handing out rings to celebrate their 2016 World Series championship, the Cubs didn’t hesitate to include some surprising names from the past.
The list, of course, features Steve Bartman, who was awarded a ring after enduring years of ridicule following the 2003 foul-ball incident, and it also includes former manager Rick Renteria who just happens to be the White Sox’s current bench boss.
In an interview with USA Today’s Bob Nightengale, Sox Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf revealed that the Cubs presented Renteria with a ring.
