The beauty of baseball is there’s always another game tomorrow, even as the Chicago Cubs and White Sox realize there will be no more tomorrows if they don’t get the job done Thursday.
With both teams facing do-or-die situations and starting their games an hour apart, the dream of crosstown World Series — played in Texas — could come crashing down around rush hour Thursday afternoon.
“Don’t panic,” Kyle Hendricks said Wednesday after being tagged with the loss for throwing one bad pitch. “We’ve got the guy we want on the mound tomorrow for sure.”
The Sox, meanwhile, likely will count on their young and talented bullpen arms to get them through Game 3 and into the American League Division Series bubble in Los Angeles, where the Houston Astros await after knocking out the Minnesota Twins.
