Column: Who gives a (bleep)? Chicago White Sox fans do after a walk-off, 10-inning win takes the series vs. the Tampa Bay Rays and gives them the majors’ best record

Chicago White Sox pitcher Lance Lynn got it wrong when asked Monday about the importance of the team’s showdown with the Tampa Bay Rays.

In terms of the marathon season, a three-game series in mid-June might not matter much to players. A lot can happen between now and October.

But judging by the reaction of the 19,259 fans who ventured out to the South Side on a gorgeous Wednesday afternoon to watch the Sox beat the Rays 8-7 in 10 innings, everyone gives a bleep.

Yasmani Grandal’s RBI single with one out in the 10th handed the Sox a walk-off win, giving them two of three against the American League East leaders.
