As the shadows crept over the infield at Guaranteed Rate Field late Tuesday afternoon, Chicago White Sox Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf plunked himself down in a front-row seat to take in batting practice.
The Sox were riding a four-game win streak, summerlike weather had arrived, at least for a day, and it won’t be long until ballpark capacity increases from 20% to 60% as more people get fully vaccinated over the coming weeks.
Everything was looking up for Reinsdorf, and all the commotion surrounding his hiring of old friend Tony La Russa had faded like a pair of old jeans.
