Chris Sale on his game, striking out 15 in White Sox victory

Before some fans even found their seats at U.S. Cellular Field on Sunday afternoon, White Sox left-hander Chris Sale served up a sampler of what was in store for the City Series finale.

Three strikeouts on 14 pitches in four minutes.

The numbers only grew more impressive from there.

Sale struck out the side three times en route to matching his career high of 15, one off the franchise record. He gave up one hit over seven scoreless innings to drive the Sox to a 3-1 victory over the Cubs.

"Not too many times he's been better than that," Sox manager Robin Ventura said.
