The Chicago White Sox signed infielder Jake Lamb to a major-league deal, the team announced before Tuesday’s Cactus League game against the Colorado Rockies.
Lamb, 30, was in Tuesday’s starting lineup at designated hitter. He is expected to provide infield depth off the bench and gives the Sox a left-handed hitting option at DH.
He has a .239/.329/.435 slash line with 101 doubles, 21 triples, 84 home runs, 312 RBIs and 290 runs in 609 career games with the Arizona Diamondbacks (2014-20) and Oakland Athletics (’20).
The Sox claimed Turley, 31, off waivers from the Athletics on March 21.
