Andrew Vaughn ripped a 2-1 fastball from Matthew Boyd to the gap in left-center for a double in the second inning of Game 2 of Thursday’s doubleheader against the Detroit Tigers.
The next time up an inning later, the Chicago White Sox rookie hit a 3-2 Michael Fulmer sinker the opposite direction for a single to right.
Vaughn continued his hot night at the plate in the fifth, lining a 2-2 knuckle-curve from Derek Holland to left for another double.
Vaughn went 3-for-4 and scored twice in the 11-0 victory at Guaranteed Rate Field, completing the first three-hit game of his career.
