Chicago White Sox fall to the Kansas City Royals 3-2 in 10 innings while Eloy Jiménez leaves early as a precaution with right groin tightness

The Sox couldn’t hold a late lead, falling to the Kansas City Royals 3-2 in 10 innings at Kauffman Stadium. Michael A. Taylor drove in the game-winning run with a two-out single against the reliever Ryan Burr.

The Sox had to complete the game without designated hitter Eloy Jiménez, who exited early as a precaution with right groin tightness.

Jiménez, playing in his third game since returning from a ruptured left pectoral tendon suffered during spring training, went 0-for-3. He lined out to first in the sixth, his final at-bat. Gavin Sheets hit for him in the ninth.
