The Chicago White Sox have had a great season. They did it with two well-above-average starting pitchers and a few hit or miss starters. The third starter in the rotation appeared to be the key weakness going into the MLB trade deadline but they didn’t do anything about it. They were in a lot of rumors, including Mike Clevinger who at the time was a member of the Cleveland Indians. They ended up trading him to the San Diego Padres instead.
It appears that the White Sox dodged a bullet by not adding him.
