In a move that seemed needlessly delayed, blue-chip middle infield prospect Chase Meidroth has been called up to the White Sox from Triple-A Charlotte.
It’s fortunate, it seems, that it only took 10 games for the Chicago White Sox to make the move. But Meidroth sat out Thursday’s Charlotte loss, fueling speculation that his call-up was imminent. Sure enough, after a 6-1 loss to the Guardians closed out a three-game sweep in Cleveland, the White Sox set the wheels in motion, and Meidroth will make his MLB debut this weekend against the Red Sox.
