Carson Fulmer’s future remains unwritten. But with every new chapter come more skeptics.
They’re skeptical he can find a spot in the White Sox crowded rotation of the future. They’re skeptical he can remain a big league starting pitcher. They’re skeptical he can live up to the expectations of the No. 8 pick in the draft.
For Fulmer’s part, for the White Sox part, the hope is he can be a major league starting pitcher. He’s getting the opportunity to prove it this season, but he’s not making a terribly convincing pitch here in the early going of the 2018 campaign and Friday’s outing at Wrigley Field — an all-around ugly 11-2 loss for the South Siders — won’t win him any new supporters.
