Carson Fulmer, who the White Sox designated for assignment Thursday, was claimed off waivers by the Detroit Tigers on Saturday.
Fulmer, who the White Sox selected with the No. 8 pick in the 2015 draft, was highly touted coming out of Vanderbilt but struggled to find success as a big leaguer. He reached the majors in a hurry, pitching in eight games in 2016, the year after he was drafted, but was quickly roughed up, finishing that short stint with an 8.
