White Sox lefthander Carlos Rodon (0-2, 4.41) takes the mound in an afternoon matchup against Athletics right-hander Paul Blackburn (1-1, 8.03), who, like Rodon, will be making just his fourth start this season after being reactivated from the disabled list.
Blackburn had a strained right forearm but was forced back into action because of injuries in the rotation. Rodon had been recovering from left shoulder surgery during his long DL stint.
Over his previous three starts, Rodon has struck out 16 but also allowed eight earned runs, including three homers. He gave up four runs Tuesday in Cleveland but lasted 6 1/3 innings, his longest outing so far this season.
