After shoulder surgery and a long rehab stint that included getting hit in the head with a line drive May 25 pitching for Triple-A Charlotte, left-hander Carlos Rodon finally is ready to return to the White Sox.
The Sox didn’t announce a date Friday, but he’s unofficially penciled in to start Saturday’s game against the Red Sox.
After striking out 168 in 165 innings in 2016 and starting to live up to the hype of being the third pick in the 2014 draft, Rodon struggled with shoulder soreness in 2017 and made only 12 starts before being shut down in early September.
