At this point, why bother pitching Garrett Crochet? Oh wait, who’s gonna pitch instead, given a 40-man roster filled with untouchables who couldn’t possibly survive a mid-September DFA in order to give, like, Sean Burke or Mason Adams a late taste.
Any, Crochet managed to stretch his 50 pitches across two innings, creating another day of chaos for an already-beleaguered bullpen. The poor start — the White Sox scored two before Boston grabbed their bats, and courtesy of Crochet being zoned in (in all the wrong ways) coughed up that lead and then some, trailing 4-2 after one.
