With September on the horizon and visions of October on Chicago White Sox fans’ minds, there’s no doubt the bandwagon is growing on the South Side.
Everyone loves a winner, and this Sox team is easy to like. They have fun, swear like sailors and seem oblivious to the old-school beliefs of their 76-year-old manager, Tony La Russa.
But as the Sox prepared to face the Cubs in Friday’s opener of the City Series at Guaranteed Rate Field, a question lingered in the thick, humid air.
