Baseball is a game of numbers. The array of metrics break down every minute of the game by play, position, inning, at bat and so on. Some stats are more unique than others, like the White Sox 9–3–2–6–2–5 triple play in April 2016. Yesterday’s game vs. Tampa Bay can be measured by a new set of stats unique to the South Side of Chicago: metrics for clearing snow on Guaranteed Rate Field.
With snow continuing to fall less than an hour from first pitch, White Sox Head Groundskeeper Roger Bossard was up for the task.
