By the numbers: Bullpen woes spoil strong night for the kids

The early days of the post-Tyler Clippard era have been unkind to the White Sox (45-72) bullpen, particularly to Jake Petricka. Petricka was on the mound when the Los Angeles Dodgers scored five runs in the eighth inning to break a 1-1 tie Tuesday night, and again on Wednesday when the Dodgers scored three in the ninth for a 5-4 walk-off win. Yasiel Puig's game-winning, two-run double was the third consecutive hit allowed by Petricka after he entered for Aaron Bummer, and it erased an otherwise great night for Nicky Delmonico and Carlos Rodon.

Petricka threw Puig a pair of two-strike sinkers that looked like they might get by him, but Puig kept the eight-pitch at-bat alive by foul-tipping both of them.
