Big Hurt leads White Sox Franchise Four balloting

CHICAGO -- Frank Thomas is considered the greatest hitter in White Sox history, not to mention becoming a first-ballot Hall of Famer last year. So it's easy to understand how the Big Hurt also checks in at No. 1 among the voting for the White Sox Franchise Four, a campaign that allows fans to vote for the most impactful players who best represent each Major League franchise.

Thomas holds a lead over Paul Konerko among the eight White Sox candidates. The late Minnie Minoso ranks third, followed by Harold Baines, per voting released on Wednesday.

Others on the ballot receiving votes are Luis Aparicio, Luke Appling, Eddie Collins and Nellie Fox.
