Baseball's hot stove league off to slow start this offseason

Baseball’s winter meetings in Orlando, Fla., last week didn’t provide much entertainment, much to the dismay of MLB Network, which provided non-stop coverage of the annual affair.

It was a fake swap-o-rama, with only one big deal — Marlins outfielder Marcell Ozuna to the Cardinals — and a plethora of no-name middle relievers signing free-agent deals.

The Giancarlo Stanton deal to the Yankees was made official, but all the drama took place the weekend before. Japanese two-way star Shohei Ohtani was discovered to have an elbow issue, but no one from the Angels seemed too concerned.
