The curtains came down on Impact captain Patrice Bernier's illustrious 17-year playing career Sunday. By lunch time on Monday, the attention completely shifted to another former captain, coach Mauro Biello, who was officially relieved of his duties along with his entire coaching staff following a disappointing 2017 season. Impact owner Joey Saputo made the announcement, which surprised no one, given that it was reported that Biello and his staff were told of the imminent changes after the September 27th 1-0 home defeat to New York City FC. Essentially, Biello and his staff were operating on borrowed time since that loss.
