Avisail being Avisail: How the Sox slugger can be successful in 2017

Avisail Garcia looked like a superstar Saturday, and contrary to his reputation, it’s not the first time. Garcia has flashed enough raw strength to the opposite field that you find yourself dreaming of a stud hitter in the middle of the White Sox lineup.

In the second inning Sunday, he stuck out his butt, bent over and just poked a 93 mph fastball off the outside corner. He’s so strong that it sent a flare that struck at the base of the right-center field fence. Four innings later, he kept his hands in on a 90 mph fastball on the inner lip of the zone and blasted a missile that crashed into the ivy wall, 430 feet away, just to the right of dead center.
