Austin Jackson sidelined with meniscus tear, White Sox recall Jason Coats

The roster shuffling continues at 35th and Shields.

The White Sox announced on Friday they have placed Austin Jackson on the 15-day disabled list with a medial meniscus tear in his left knee and recalled outfielder Jason Coats from Triple-A Charlotte.

The 29-year-old Jackson has a slash line of .254/.318/.343 with 12 doubles, two triples and 18 RBI in 54 games with the White Sox this season.

Coats, 26, made his MLB debut last weekend at Comerica Park against the Detroit Tigers. He went hitless in two games with a walk and a hit-by-pitch. Coats currently leads the International League in batting average (.
