The White Sox recalled infielder Carlos Sanchez from Triple-A Charlotte on Friday before the series opener against the Astros in Houston.
Sanchez takes the roster spot of Matt Davidson, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list after fracturing his right foot in his Sox debut Thursday. Davidson suffered the injury while running the bases after hitting an RBI single in the fourth inning of the 6-5 victory over the Twins.
Sanchez spent nearly a month with the Sox earlier this season, playing in 11 games and making four starts.
