Two years ago, the White Sox brought a new third baseman to spring training with big plans, but Matt Davidson has struggled mightily.
Davidson said Sunday his failure to figure out his swing at Triple-A Charlotte the last two seasons made an addition like Todd Frazier an obvious choice for the Sox.
"The White Sox want to produce at third base, and obviously I haven't been doing that," said Davidson, who was acquired from the Diamondbacks for closer Addison Reed in 2013.
