White Sox catcher Alex Avila has been on the disabled list for more than a month with a strained right hamstring, and manager Robin Ventura said Friday he is not yet ready to think about a rehab assignment after feeling a "twinge" in the leg during a recent batting practice.
Dioner Navarro has seen the bulk of the time with Avila out, but 24-year-old rookie Omar Narvaez could receive more opportunities to show what he can do.
Narvaez played in his seventh game Friday night against the Marlins, catching left-hander Carlos Rodon.
