Anthony Ranaudo signs with the Samsung Lions

Anthony Ranaudo, would-be hero of the Crosstown Cup, has been released by the White Sox today to sign a one year, $1.05 million deal with the Samsung Lions of the KBO.

Ranaudo came to the Sox on May 15 in a trade for pitching prospect Matt Ball. Five days earlier, Ranaudo gave up five runs to the Sox on five walks while pitching for the Rangers. Ranaudo spent the next two months in Charlotte before getting a call up to start against the Cubs on July 27.

In that start against the Cubs, Ranaudo held the Cubs hitless through 5u2153 innings until giving up a home run to Kris Bryant.
