There is a small chance the White Sox might be feeling some of the injuries to their pitching staff right now. Mike Pelfrey, replacing injured starter James Shields, lost his command in a three-run fourth inning that erased an early Sox lead. Chris Beck, called up when Zach Putnam went to the disabled list, came into the game to try to clean up a Dan Jennings jam and allowed three straight hits, as the Twins picked up an easy 7-2 victory in the opener of a six-game homestand. The White Sox have lost four straight.
With his best command, Pelfrey looks like a pretty serviceable major league pitcher.
