Nate Jones hasn’t pitched in a major-league game in 16 months, but that could soon change.
The White Sox reinstated Jones from the 60-day disabled list Monday a little more than a year after the reliever and former closer candidate had Tommy John surgery on his right elbow.
Jones takes the roster spot of reliever Daniel Webb, who was placed on the 15-day DL with a mid right back strain after allowing three earned runs over 1 1/3 innings against the Rays on Tuesday night.
“It’s going to be hard to contain it out there whenever I do get to pitch,” Jones said.
