Outfielder Adam Engel was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a strained right hamstring. The move is retroactive to Sunday.
Engel began the season on the injured list with a strained right hamstring and wasn’t available until June 6. He has a .241 batting average with three home runs, four RBIs and five runs in 10 games.
González, 26, is hitting .195 (16-for-82) with three doubles, three home runs, 11 RBIs, 13 runs and five stolen bases in 24 games with the Knights.
González appeared as a defensive replacement for the Sox in an April 29 game against the Detroit Tigers.
