TORONTO -- Jose Abreu and Adam LaRoche made what could have been a horrendously long road trip a little shorter on Wednesday afternoon.
Shortly after David Robertson surrendered a game-tying home run to Josh Donaldson, the middle of the White Sox lineup provided some late game magic of its own. Abreu tripled and LaRoche singled him in with Gordon Beckham adding a two-out RBI double as the White Sox avoided a series sweep with a 5-3 win over the Toronto Blue Jays in 10 innings at the Rogers Centre. The White Sox won for only the second time in nine games and snapped a four-game losing streak despite Robertson’s second straight blown save.
