The Baltimore Orioles’ Adam Jones had a message for Chicago White Sox rookie catcher Kevan Smith when the veteran came to the plate in the top of the third inning of Monday night’s game at Guaranteed Rate Field.
“Jones came up to hit and he was like, ‘hey, I got your ball for you,’” a glowing Smith said following the Sox’s 10-7 victory during which the 28-year-old belted his first career home run and later received as a souvenir.
“I guess the fan grabbed it and said, ‘hey, that was his first home run.
