A.J. Hinch was one of the most successful managers in baseball during his five-year run with the Houston Astros.
The Astros fired Hinch on Jan. 13 after Major League Baseball released its results of the investigation.
After a season away because of a season-long suspension, Hinch’s name has been mentioned for managerial openings. There already has been media speculation about Hinch, 46, as a possible candidate for the Chicago White Sox, who parted ways with Rick Renteria on Monday.
Four people who were with the Astros in 2017 told The Athletic last November that the team stole signs during home games with the assistance of a camera positioned in the outfield.
