4 takeaways from the Chicago White Sox sweep of the Texas Rangers, including Michael Kopech becoming ‘more of a pitcher’ and Dylan Cease looking to adopt an attacking mindset

Kopech made his second start of the season Sunday and was outstanding, allowing one run on four hits with 10 strikeouts and no walks in five innings in the 8-4 win.

The Sox have used Kopech primarily as a reliever, and he has a 1.17 ERA in four relief appearances. He has a 2.25 ERA in his two starts.

“It’s made this season a little bit easier for me because it’s not knowing when you’re pitching and it makes you be a lot more present for every pitch that you throw,” he said Sunday. “If they call me tonight and say I’m going to pitch tomorrow, I need to be ready to face those hitters tomorrow.
