MINNEAPOLIS — Four takeaways from the series at Target Field in which the Chicago White Sox won two of three against the Minnesota Twins.
The Sox began a stretch of 13 straight games against the Kansas City Royals and Twins on May 7 a half-game out of first place in the American League Central. They completed the string with a 2½-game lead after Wednesday’s 2-1 win.
“It’s a real plus because we all saw the schedule, and the first two games (of Friday’s doubleheader) against Kansas City were really difficult and we all know who Minnesota is,” Sox manager Tony La Russa said Wednesday.
