Keuchel retired the first nine batters. Before the fourth inning began, runners were placed on second and third. The Sox brought in the infield, and Keuchel got Leury Garcia to ground to second baseman Nick Madrigal, who threw home to get the runner.
Keuchel then retired the final batter with another grounder. He struck out two in his 3u2154 perfect innings.
“Once again, what you see is what you get,” third base coach Nick Capra said. “(Keuchel is a) true professional, knows how to pitch, keeps hitters off balance. He did a really nice job. He’s right where he needs to be.
