In addition to announcing the departures of manager Rick Renteria and pitching coach Don Cooper on Monday, Chicago White Sox general manager Rick Hahn had updates about several Sox players and prospects as well as his offseason shopping list.
Rookie Garrett Crochet was the first option out of the bullpen in Game 3 of the American League wild-card series against the Oakland Athletics. He entered with two on and two out in the first inning and got the job done, striking out Matt Olson to end the threat.
Crochet, a first-round pick in the 2020 draft, returned for the second inning and struck out Khris Davis but then left with tightness in his left forearm.
