Last Night’s Highlights
For the second time in their history, the White Sox–as illustrated in the above line score–scored in every inning they came to bat and went on to an 11-4 victory over the Indians in the opener of the four-game series at U.S. Cellular Field.
The last time the Sox accomplished the feat was on May 11, 1949, at Comiskey Park during a 12-8 win over the Red Sox.
Avi Garcia (11, 0 on), Adam Eaton (13, 0 on) and Todd Frazier (36, 1 on) all homered; Eaton, Jose Abreu and Frazier each drove in a pair of runs; and Garcia (4), Tim Anderson (3), Eaton (2), Abreu (2), Frazier (2) and Tyler Saladino (2) led the 16-hit parade.
