With the Chicago White Sox's recent signing of Melky Cabrera, it appears that Dayan Viciedo could find himself as the odd man out in the outfield on the Southside.
Sporting a starting outfield including Avisail Garcia, Adam Eaton, and newcomer Melky Cabrera, Viciedo will be relegated to the bench if he remains with the White Sox. Bob Nightengale of USA Today doesn't think that is a possibility, as he believes that Chicago will trade Viciedo "for sure."
If the White Sox do decide that it's time to part ways with Viciedo, Bill Baer of NBC's Hardball Talk writes that "the Mariners, who lost the (Melky) Cabrera bidding to the White Sox, could pursue Viciedo."
Over the past three seasons, Viciedo has been mediocre at best. He's posted a .250/.294/.425 slash line with 60 home runs and 192 RBI in 1,579 plate appearances over that span.
