The Chicago White Sox are one of three teams currently in trade negotiations with the Arizona Diamondbacks regarding veteran catcher Miguel Montero.
Here's Nick Piecoro of AZCentral Sports with the scoop:
The Diamondbacks continue to have dialogue with other clubs on a variety of players, including catcher Miguel Montero . . . Among the teams the Diamondbacks have spoken to about Montero are the Chicago Cubs, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Chicago White Sox.
Piecoro indicates that while trade discussions are ongoing, they haven't reached the later stages at this juncture.
The 31-year-old Montero posted a slash of .243/.329/.370 while catching 131 games for the Diamondback in 2014. While that slash line is by no means ideal, it stands as an outlier for a player who is usually quite adept at the plate.
