ALLEN PARK, Mich. — The Lions face a roster decision this week, with DE Armonty Bryant eligible as of Monday to return from his four-game suspension (violation of NFL's substance abuse policy). Detroit claimed Bryant off waivers from Cleveland last October, re-signed him in March, then he was hit with that league-mandated punishment in July.
Bryant must be moved to the active roster by the weekend, or released.
“We kind of have an opportunity to evaluate, take a look,” said Jim Caldwell, “and we’ll see what happens.”
The 27-year-old Bryant only played in five games for Detroit last season — he finished the year on injured reserve after missing three games in November while serving a separate suspension.
