Casey Krueger will have a chance to win an Olympic gold medal, after all.
She was previously listed as an alternate on the United States Women’s National Team Olympic squad, but today comes word the Chicago Red Stars defender will be a full member of the team, after a rule change.
The IOC announced participating countries now have the option of selecting 22 players for their full squads, but only 18 can suit up for each game. Before the rule change, the only way Krueger could have played was if a player had dropped off the USWNT roster, and she was added.
