During the Chicago Fire's 2019 preseason stay in Madrid, Spain, head coach Veljko Paunoviu0107 spent an afternoon with his squad at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium, home of La Liga side Atlético Madrid. Paunoviu0107 appeared 115 times from 1996-2005 for Atlético Madrid as a player, and was honored with a "Walk of Legends" plaque on the stadium grounds alongside the club's other players who have reached or surpassed the 100-match milestone.
