Major League Soccer has postponed tonight’s match between Minnesota United and Chicago Fire FC due to a suspected case of COVID-19 among Minnesota’s team delegation.
This comes after two Loons players tested positive for the virus last week, forcing the postponement of Sunday’s FC Dallas-Minnesota match. Since then, the Loons had returned to small group training, and had no further positive cases, until tonight.
MLS pulled the plug on the match a little more than an hour before the scheduled 7 p.m. CT kickoff, meaning the Fire will now have to turn around and fly home to Chicago.
